Sarah Piper is an experienced registered psychologist who has lived and worked in both remote and urban settings in Australia, as well as internationally in different cultures. Her background consists of child protection, humanitarian and development work, school counselling, and now private practice. She works with people of all ages with various presentations both on and off the field. As a strengths based and solution-focussed practitioner she applies evidence-based psychological strategies to enable people to live and function more fully. Sarah is approachable and authentic, taking great interest in both the personal and spiritual resources that people bring and how they might use these to move forward in their lives. |
Cross Cultural Experience | Sarah has lived in both Balkan and Greek speaking countries, working in a humanitarian/development context plus raising a family of young children. From her 4yr Greek experience, she is also familiar with the nearby Turkish and Middle Eastern cultures. She was involved with victims of trafficking in Cyprus and also participated fully in the life of the local churches where she lived. In private practice, Sarah works with people from many different cultures, most commonly Asian backgrounds. She counsels both adults and children via Skype on the Mission Field when needed. Her experiences of transitioning O.S. and re-entry back home (both with and without children) has enabled a thorough understanding of the many issues involved. |
