Missional Hermeneutics (EM044)
This five-day intensive introduces you to the theological foundations, interpretive approaches, and ministry implications of reading Scripture through a missional lens. The unit explores the development and nature of missional hermeneutics, the missio Dei as the framework for interpretation, the identity and vocation of God’s people, and God’s redemptive purposes for the world. Through guided readings, class presentations and discussions, and a series of assessments (credit students only), you will critically evaluate key scholarly contributions, apply missional interpretive methods to biblical texts, and integrate these insights into ministry practice.
The unit equips you to interpret Scripture in ways that are theologically grounded, missionally oriented, and contextually aware, enabling you to serve as reflective practitioners in diverse ministry contexts.
