Missions Interlink Western Australia (WA) operates with a passion to see churches in Western Australia effectively engaged in cross-cultural and global mission. MIWA brings together mission organisations, training colleges, churches and service organisations to foster collaboration in a common purpose to promote, equip and inspire believers to reach the nations with the Gospel.

Do you have a heart for cross-cultural mission?

We’re all about linking and helping like-minded West Aussies to do mission better. You could join us at any of our events. Throughout the year MIWA provides an opportunity for people from mission agencies, local churches and Bible colleges to meet together, encourage one another, listen to guest speakers and network for the Kingdom. These include breakfasts, morning tea events, mini-conferences and training sessions. You may also like to arrange a face-to-face chat over a coffee.

How can we serve you?

Our Regional Director for Western Australia, Peter Warren, will be happy to hear from mission-focused people at any time if MIWA can serve you in some way.

Member Care

The heart of the Member Care Network in WA is the desire to support and encourage cross-cultural workers and their families as they face the varied joys and challenges of serving Jesus. This road is often full of periods of change and transition as people prepare to leave their home countries, settle in new places, return regularly to their passport countries for rest, reconnection and reflection, and then repeat the process over again.

The Missions Interlink Member Care Network in Western Australia aims to support missionaries in cultural transition, support churches to understand the needs of cross-cultural workers and provide spaces where people can encourage and help one another.

Being in a smaller population State has meant that cultural transition training, re-entry retreats, and other events often don’t have the critical numbers to enable them to go ahead. It is also very costly for participants, both in time away from their State, and financially, to access these events over the East. We seek to be flexible to meet the needs of cross-cultural workers currently in WA for whatever reason, by holding Cultural Transition Gatherings several times each year. Over afternoon tea, we provide opportunities for people in similar situations to meet, support, and encourage one another. This has proved helpful to those able to attend.

We also seek to support other innovative ideas to provide encouragement to cross-cultural workers, their children, and wider families where possible, and to support local churches through training days or Member-Care topics which form part of the more general Missions Interlink WA programme

Do you represent a mission agency?

We love to help promote events that are put on by our member agencies. So if your event needs promoting in WA and your agency is a member of Missions Interlink, tell us about it, so we can pass on the info to our constituency.

Are you representing a local church?

The local church is an essential part of cross-cultural mission and Missions Interlink can provide resources to help you as a Pastor or local church missions action group/committee maximise your missions focus. Ask us how we can do this.

Need Training?

Missions Interlink WA facilitates various training programmes that can help you, your agency or your local church. One of these is specially designed to prepare team leaders and team members for cross-cultural mission trips. Check out the Upcoming Events below for info about the next training module.
