Thursday, 22nd April
Westminster Presbyterian Church Bull Creek, WA
Join us for our next NETWORKING BREAKFAST on Thursday 22 April at Westminster Presbyterian Church Bull Creek 7:15am for a 7:30am start.
Hear from a Senior Pastor and a local church Missions Leader about how cross cultural missions can be an integral part of the whole church ethos and practise.
If we believe that God is the source, the instigator, the inspiration, and the power of mission (missio Dei) and that He sends out His Church into the world to proclaim His Kingdom, salvation and forgiveness through word and deed (missio ecclesiae), then what is the role of the local church in God’s mission plan? Throughout history He has used various methods and structures to be the instruments to carry the Gospel, but we see that from the beginning of the early church, He has used local churches (such as the churches in Jerusalem and Antioch in the Book of Acts), as the primary sending tool.
In our ever connecting and “glocal” world, the local church can and does play an important role in God’s mission. Rather than taking over the role of mission organizations and Bible Colleges, local churches can partner with them as well as other local churches in cross-cultural settings. Local churches are getting more involved in informing their members about what God is doing, mobilizing individuals and teams to go, support this work financially, and pray for those He has sent.
At our next Missions Interlink breakfast, we will hear how one church how has thought and prayed about their role in God’s mission, and how they are actively getting more involved in various missions. We will also give opportunities for those from local churches to ask specific questions about their challenges and hurdles, while mission organizations will be available to give information on how they can help churches in their obedience to maximize their missions impact. So we hope that Pastors and church leaders will be able join with us on this occasion. (If you are not the Pastor, why not invite him/her to join you for this strategic breakfast meeting.
