Foundations of Well-Being in Ministry
“Better to burnout out rather than rust out,” is an oft-quoted phrase heard around some ministry haunts. But are they the only two options? This seminar will explore the two psychological processes that comprise the central framework for the foundations of well-being in ministry, and identify the essential steps for being living sacrifices, rather than burnt sacrifices.
This will be a hybrid workshop experience of virtual and in person. There is a limit of 12 participants in person.
Dr Grant Bickerton is well known to us and he’ll be presenting and facilitating this time for us.
Dr Grant Bickerton is a registered psychologist who has twenty years’ experience working in full-time Christian ministry here in Australia and in the Middle East with Power to Change. Grant’s academic and research interests have focused on the organisational, personal and spiritual variables that promote well-being in ministry. Grant serves in Power to Change with a focus on the well-being and development of missionaries, together with ongoing research with Exclesia College (Sydney) and maintaining a small psychological practise providing individual therapy and psychological assessments for those in vocational ministry.
