Field Security Course (FSC) – MAST Level 2


This training is available only to those who have done MAST (MI Advanced Security Training). Details for next MAST training is here

This training is a one-day extension of MAST with a focus on preparing for the worst-case scenario in order to help avoid security incidents; and to provide a better chance of survival and faster recovery in the event of an emergency. It integrate hands-on field training with an emphasis on hostage survival, reducing exploitation and developing resilience for ongoing ministry.

Preparing your electronic devices for overseas travel.

Self Defense (Sanctuary’s R.O.A.R.)

The only humanitarian and faith-based missions-accepted self-defense course available. Sanctuary’s own Johnny Smith created R.O.A.R (Realistic Optimum Adaptive Readiness) from over 30 years of experience in martial arts coupled with a career in special operations service.

Advanced Field First Aid

‘Knowing’ what to do in an emergency gives one the confidence to act. Learn advanced techniques that can save not only those you encounter on your journeys but also your family. Building your own first aid kit for your vehicle and to carry with you.

Hostage Avoidance and Survival

A ‘best practices’ approach to avoid being taken hostage and techniques to use if you are taken hostage. An extended hostage survival scenario, simulating a potentially stressful environment, will give participants the opportunity to practice using the skills taught in the avoidance and survival training.

7:00 pm: Start time for FSC participants.
7:30 pm to 8:00 pm: In brief
8:00 pm to 9:00 pm: Session one 1-hour block of training (Cyber)

14 November 2019 | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
8:00 am – 9:00 am: First Aid
09:00 am – 10:45 am: Self Defense
10:45 am-11:00 am: Break
11:00 am-12:00 pm: Hostage Survival
12:00 pm-1:00 pm: Lunch
1:00 pm to 1:30 pm: Critical skills and Hostage Survival exercise brief
1:30 pm to 4:00 pm: Hostage Survival / Critical Skills Exercises 1
4:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Debrief and Course Review


This course will depend on the number of people attending. 

Cost, gst free

MI members and Associates = $655
Non MI Members and Associates = $983

On registration, you will only be asked to pay a deposit of $200 per person.

In instances that the course will be cancelled, a full refund will be issued. Otherwise, if course is not cancelled, you’ll receive instructions on how to pay your remaining balance  and deposit(s) is (are) non refundable.

Full fee includes accommodation and meals.
