Course Details

Travel Security Orientation (TSO)

This one day course is intended for mission leaders and boards, and those traveling to insecure locations on a regular or occasional basis. It is designed to build good security practices, and policies based on a solid biblical foundation.

The program includes much of the content of CAST, without the field exercises. It covers the principles, practicalities, policies and best practice of: Security in the Context of Ministry; Understanding, Identification, and Abatement of Personal Threats; Body Language and Threat Recognition; and Becoming a Hard Target while Travelling.

Concilium Advanced Security Training (CAST)

This is an interactive course that incorporates classroom learning, indoor and outdoor training, and role-play sessions. Participants are trained on relevant topics facing believers working in open and restricted access areas.

Topics and exercises include:

  • Developing a theology of risk and personal security in the context of ministry
  • Security best practice in high risk environments
  • Crafting appropriate responses to questions, queries and demands
  • Cyber and social media safety and security
  • Threat recognition
  • Understanding hostile observation and surveillance
  • Vehicle safety and security
Field Security Course (FSC)

This training is an extension of CAST, with a focus on preparing for the worst so security incidents can be avoided, and providing a better chance of survival, and faster recovery if they do occur. It integrates hands-on field training with an emphasis on hostage survival and mitigating exploitation to develop resilience and ongoing capacity for ministry. It includes: Hostage survival and mitigating exploitation; Immediate action drills; Evasive/and defensive driver training.

NOTEPlaces are strictly limited. Registrations will close when numbers have reached capacity.
